SELECTION OF AN APPROPRIATE PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT USING THE ANALYTIC HIERARCHY PROCESS

The main principles of safety risk reduction are elimination, substitution, and engineering controls. Hazardous conditions, safe work practices, other forms managerial controls should be provided for a environment. For this reason, the use personal protective equipment (PPE) is inevitable employees. PPE can help mitigate accidents injuries associated with hazardous materials or potentially unsafe working conditions. Thus, selection suitable significant step in process complex involves multiple criteria decision making since several parameters affect selection. In study, factors affecting were determined as Safety Features, Comfort Efficiency, Design Principles, Customer Support. present systematic methodology to select an appropriate was performed using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP). results indicate that Features criterion most factor, followed by Support criteria, respectively.
